TEam Member Spotlight: Dymon Morgan

What is your role on the TEam?

I will take on the role of being an Induction Teacher Leader.

Where did you study? List all that apply.

I attended college in Atlanta at Spelman College.

Why are you passionate about education and teacher development?

I am passionate about education as it serves as the foundation to infinite growth. Specifically, I am dedicated to teacher development as teachers serve as the vessel by which one receives education. With this in mind, it is necessary to foster the professional growth of teachers in order to yield growth within students.

Describe a successful teaching strategy that you used in the classroom or that you frequently recommend to your teachers.

A successful teaching strategy I have used in my classroom is the use of foldables to present new materials in an engaging manner.

If you had to describe your work on the TEam in three words, what would they be?

Inspiring, Humbling, FUN

What advice would you have for an educator that aspires to become an instructional leader?

The piece of advice I would give someone who aspires to be an instructional leader is to be flexible and expect to grow immensely.

When you are not working on closing the achievement gap, what do you enjoy doing?

I enjoy working out, playing with Mochstar (my dog), and taking random excursions around Houston.

Which TE-shirt is your favorite and why?

My favorite TE-shirt is “Start stronger and finish stronger.” I love this shirt because in everything you do you should start on a great note and end on an even better note.
