Describe your campus culture in three words.

Persist. Achieve. Team. Honor. (Sorry – had to do four – our school values!)

Where is your favorite place to work on campus?

My favorite place to work is one of my co-workers’ rooms during my planning period. By the time my planning period rolls around, I’m ready to see some new surroundings other than my own classroom.

What is one surprising or quirky fact about your campus?

My campus is actually a strip mall – home to an old skating rink, CVS, and a soul food restaurant. It’s now home to four KIPP schools.

Ms. Francis, the school leader, working hard with Ms. Booth during Teacher Appreciation week. The faculty sported crowns to honor their “celebrity teachers”!

What is your favorite annual event at school?

My favorite annual event at school to date has been the STAAR pep rally for our third graders. It was to help get our founding class pumped up for their first STAAR test and was a school-wide pep rally filled with cheers and dancing.

This impressive MAP assessment tracker is located in the school’s “Persist” room to ensure all students are meeting their goals.

Where are some great places to eat nearby?

If you’re a fan of fast food, there is plenty of that nearby! There is also a great Mexican food restaurant down the street that occasionally caters tacos for our weekly professional development.
